(NIS): The people of Kharsang celebrated Asar 15 by eating curd ,15 is observed on the 15th day of the Asar month of Vikram Samvat . On Sunday, on the occasion of Asar 15 , many people of Kharsang woke up early in the morning and prepared curd , chiura and delicious foods in their kitchens and celebrated Asar 15,other delicious foods they had prepared with their neighbors and,, fruits and flowers prepared at their homes on the social networking site Facebook and exchanging greetings on Asar 15 with their friends ,brothers and well-wishers . It is known that on Saturday, the day before Asad 15 , various shops in Kharsang sold well. Some shops had run out of curd by evening, while some shops sold more curd than usual. Asad 15 has a tradition of eating curd and curd in Nepali-speaking society , and this day is also considered a busy day for rice planting. In the past, the main occupation of Nepali-speaking people was farming . People also consider Asad 15 to be an auspicious day for the start of rice planting. On this day, everyone is busy planting rice in the fields and it is found that there is a tradition of eating curd and curd during the busy time. It is also said that on Asad 15 , there is a tradition of playing in the mud while planting rice , playing in the mud , singing Juhari songs , singing Hakpare songs and dancing . Rice planting has now stopped in many places in the Darjeeling hills including Kharsang. However, rice is still cultivated in some places. It is reported that rice is cultivated in villages and settlements such as Bungkulung , Dudhe , Rohini , Baghmara Basti, etc., and Asar 15 is observed by planting rice. Nepal is considered an agricultural country , and the Nepali government has been declaring Asar 15 as Rice Day since 2004.15 is a cultural festival of Nepali speakers. Many people of Kharsang celebrate Asar by exchanging good wishes with each other by eating curd , chiura and otherdelicious foods.The process of observing 15 cultural festivals has been maintained.
