The Pulbazar Bijanabari Gok Samashti under the Gorkha Rashtriya Mukti Morcha Darjeeling Branch Committee is continuing to intensify its organizational expansion. In the meantime, an organizational meeting was held under the chairmanship of Gorana Samashti member Sarita Subba in the Upper Ananden branch under the Naya Nor Gram Panchayat. The organizational meeting conducted by Bimal Subba was attended by Darjeeling Branch Committee Vice President Gais Subba, Gorayumo Samashti President Amod Lakandri, Secretary Jeevan Pradhan, Naya Nor Gram Branch President Padam Chamling, Samashti Secretary Kiran Rai, as well as branch representatives and cadres. In the meeting, it was decided to select two coordinators in the Ananden branch to further strengthen the party, and Bimal Subba and Ratna Kumar Subba were unanimously selected.
Along with this, the responsibility of forming a branch committee under their leadership was also given in the coming days. In this context, Gais Subba informed the people of Ananden that they should follow the instructions given by Goramumo President Man Ghising to strengthen the party organization. Gais Subba further informed the meeting that Goramumo is the only party to protect the cause and identity of the Gorkha caste and that the party has worked to a large extent to implement the constitutional arrangements in the hills. Earlier, the organization expansion and public support in the Rishihat branch of the Rishihat-Bloomfield complex under the Gorkha Rashtriya Mukti Morcha Darjeeling Branch Committee has been increasing significantly. In an important organizational and reunion program organized recently, eminent personalities from various political parties, social organizations and communities expressed their faith in Goramumo and expressed their support for the party.
The program was conducted by Goramumo Darjeeling Branch Committee Member and Samashti Vice President Birman Lama. Former Panchayat Pradhan of Rishihat-Bloomfield and current BLO Mrs. Munna Thapa was present in the program. Also present were S.K. Thami, active member of the 1986 Gorkhaland Movement, social worker Shamishtar Subba, teacher Nila Rai, Pushpalata Tamang-Rai, former soldier and DGH employee Taken Thapa, Mahipal Rai, social worker Jeeten Baskota, Dagopapa and temporary employees, representatives of Goramumo Orange Valley Branch, Rishihat Khasmahal Branch, Mandalgaun Branch and representatives of various religious organizations including Buddhists, Christians and others.
At the beginning of the program, Elder Shakul Rai gave a welcome speech and honored the invited guests by serving them with food. Then, tributes were paid to the portrait of the great Gorkha father, the late Subash Ghising. In the meeting, senior party member Lwang Tamang shed light on the current Gorkha political situation, the need for a long-term political solution, and the role of the Gorakhpuri Union. The public present responded positively to his views and said that their trust in the Gorakhpuri Union has become stronger.
The speakers expressed their belief that if political change in West Bengal and coordination between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the center and the state is achieved, the path to a long-term and permanent political solution for the Gorkhas will be paved. With the same hope and faith, it was informed that people from different political backgrounds are continuously joining the Gorhamu. At the program, more than 40 households from the Rishihat area have formally joined the party, attracted by the ideology and principles of the Gorhamu. The newly joined members have expressed their commitment to move forward unitedly under the leadership of the Gorhamu to ensure ethnic survival, social justice, regional development, poverty eradication and long-term political rights of the Gorkha community.
Addressing the program, Birman Lama mentioned that the Gorhamu is the only issue-focused regional force dedicated to the political rights of the Gorkha community, social transformation and regional development. He pointed out the need for everyone to unite and move forward the journey of struggle to realize the dream shown by the late Subash Ghising. With the conclusion of the program, the organizing party had stated that there were indications that more people from the social, political, and intellectual sectors would join Goramumo in the coming days.
